| | Description | Sea to Summit's X-Plate is a collapsible hybrids comprised of a rigid, cut-resistant base made of high temperature, food-grade nylon and walls made of food-grade flexible silicone, so they fold flat for compact packing. Each is tough enough to handle chopping with their sturdy nylon base. The silicone sides can withstand temperatures of hot foods and nearby hot surfaces up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. The sides are flexible, so pouring liquids is easy. When collapsed down flat, the X-Bowl fits snugly into the X-Plate for extra space savings when packed. | |

Love Sea to Summit X series! Jan 12, 2010
By P. Falcioni
"Ducatisti"
We travel by motorcycles, so space is at much more of a premium than weight. The titanium cookware looks great and is perfect for hikers, but not so much for our application, and it does funny things in a microwave.
Finally, I found the Sea to Summit X-series, and warily purchased the X Bowl. I just couldn't imagine something that would easily collapse for storage, but not collapse when full of hot soup. Well, it must be magic, because it works.
The plate doubles as a cutting board and I have yet to mark the surface. Clean up is easy and quick, and the sides hold pasta or stew without dripping over the edges and making a mess.
Perfect for motorcycle touring, and probably pretty darned sweet for backpacking if the added weight is less important than size limitations.

Back backing Gear Feb 11, 2010
By Charlotte Harrell This was bought for my grandson to take on an extended back backing trip over the coming summer. It seemed fine at Christmas time. We will know more next fall after the long trip is over. It is lightweight and collapsible which is really good for back backing.
