| | Description | The MYO RXP is the first Petzl headlamp that is regulated and programmable, allowing the user to choose the order of lighting levels and to precisely adapt light output. To do this, there are three lighting modes, for each of which the user can select the power from among ten possible levels, from 8 to 140 lumens. This feature allows the lamp to be programmed for the type of activity and the length of use. Maximum power lighting would be suited for a short night run, for example; less powerful lighting would help preserve battery life and would therefore be ideal for a multi-day trek. This headlamp has Boost mode (160 lumens) and a flashing mode (slow, fast & SOS) that can be programmed. It is compatible with lithium batteries to optimize performance, even at low temperatures. The Wide Angle lens offers the option of switching instantly from a focused beam to a wide beam when necessary. Weighs only 175g. | |

Finally, enough light at a great price Aug 29, 2010 I love this light. I've owned a lot of headlamps, using them for everything from mountain climbing and fly fishing to working on my motorcycle. I love the fact that it takes AAs, which I can re-charge in 15 min., and the light's good for another, well, a looong time. Best light I've found in this price catagory.
great light Jul 31, 2010 Excellent light with programmable features, used in the alpine areas of british columbia. Worked without a hitch and battery life was great!
Great Headlamp Jul 29, 2010 If you're looking for a really bright headlamp with a long battery life, look no further! Great for working in small hard to see places or outdoor grilling at night. Fits the head well, and stays in place while bending down. I use rechargeable batteries to power mine and they work exceptionally well.

Great Cave Light Jul 14, 2010 Light weight, super bright. Best caving light I have owned in 25 years of caving.

Enlightening Mar 26, 2010 The Petzl E87 P MYO RXP Headlamp, was purchased after trying a long line of hands free illumination products, including bill (cap)lights and and cheaper headlamps. They all left me wanting and in the dark after awhile.
The Petzl E87 is a serious headlamp. The broad illumination feature and the spotlight option are just about all you need for working or walking in the dark. The light is bright white and gives good peripheral to foot fall illumination. Wherever you work or whatever you are working on is brightly illuminated.
I use this light on very dark and cold winter mornings. It has lasted much longer than other battery headlamps, probably because of the adjustable battery usage features. (I left at factory settings.)
The only drawback, if it might be termed, is the outfit needs a good hat to rest upon. It is neither tiny nor cheap, but really illuminates the hands free lighting jobs. This is a serious light.
