The main reason I went with a Petzl headlamp is because I knew this kit was available. After you put the adapter on your headlamp, it is very easy to use all parts. You will not be able to use your existing headband (expected), but this one has the over the head strap (optional) which my original did not have.
I installed the circular "stick anywhere" pad on my bicycle helmet. Wow! What a difference. I still ride with lights on my handlebars, but it is nice to have a light that looks where you do. Caution though, as once the adapter is in place, it will not move. Yes, this helmet looks a little weird with the adapter on without the headlamp, but the helmet is still functional. I'm planning on getting a new helmet within the next few months, so this one will become my night riding one.

I bought this solely for the adhesive surface mount so I could hook my Tikka to my bike helmet. It worked perfectly, although you must take care to align it such that thelogo is exactly level - otherwise, the light will sit at a slight angle (the light will rotate on the mount, but not freely- it ratchets along it).
One star deduction for this and the fact that you will not longer be able to have your light and the headband in the Petzl Poche,s hould you own one. The new headband/mount is too bulky for it. Otherwise, a solid product.
