Great upgrade from previous models Jul 14, 2009
By jimbo head lee Another great set of gloves from a reputable company, Pearl Izumi. ZERO complaints about this pair. Velcro straps around your wrist to the base of your palm. additional padding in the webbed area between thumb and index. mesh backing on the gloves allow for breath-ability even in 100degF weather. Grip on the index for those shifting moments (i.e. no sweat in the way). Best full-fingered gloves I've purchased to-date. Highly recommend!

An (dissapointing) average score Aug 31, 2010
By P. Proffitt I've been wearing nothing but PI full finger gloves on the road for 15 years now. Sadly this is the lower end of satisfaction I've experienced with the line over the years. This is not a slam on them by any means, but I must call out a major issue I've had with them. Its all about the wiping surface area. In the past PI has had a mostly terry cloth or otherwise soft wiping area between the thumb and forefinger. In their zest to have somehting labeled "green" they now use something else. It may be bamboo fiber as per the "look we're green too" marketing label, but whatever it is, its rough and over the course of a long hot ride results in painfull little cuts or chaffing around the nose/upper lip junction. Just enough to sting when the sweat gets in. Its maddening at times...not the distraction you need when you're on mile 80 with a 10 mile climb staring you in the face.
I'll use these until they wear out I guess, but if they don't address the sandpaper like wiping area in the next generation, my 15 yrs of PI full finger gloves run will be over.

Excellent padding, breathable, overall good fit Jul 22, 2010
By Christopher D. Hughes Ever since I took a huge gash out of one of my fingers in a local crit, I always wear full-finger gloves. They are a bit harder to find in summer weight gloves, and I have tried many of them. I almost always end up preferring Pearl Izumi gloves.
I bought these for road cycling and they have worked out really well. The gel padding is excellent and does not seem to compress over time like the foam padding that you find in many gloves. The back panel is breathable enough to wear even on hot humid days, but it's not a full open mesh either. If you like hurricane force airflow, stick with fingerless gloves or find something with a full mesh back. They seem to be at their best around 60-70F.
The grip from the full front leather palm is excellent and another great reason to wear full-finger gloves. No more missed shifts or breaking with sweaty fingers on slippery levers.
The velcro wrist closure is made from the fine mesh velcro that doesn't seem to stick to anything but itself. I don't worry too much about making sure the tabs are closed before throwing them in the wash.
The only negative for me is the fit between the thumb and forefinger. There is a gel pad there and it tends to bunch up a little. It is in no way uncomfortable but it just feels like it doesn't fit quite right. It may be my hands. I have long thin hands and fingers so I buy XL gloves; it may be that the designer was expecting wider hands. Don't let this dissuade you from trying these gloves, they are excellent even with this minor complaint.

Exactly what I'd been looking for in a glove Apr 19, 2010
By N. J. Hirsch I'd been looking for a full-finger glove I can wear in medium to warm weather. These gloves have worked out perfectly: plenty of venting on the back, great padding without being bulky, and the leather comes up my index finger and thumbs exactly where I was getting irritating contact in my fingerless gloves. They fit true to size based on other gloves I've worn.

Good...not great Jan 30, 2010

Overall good fit and comfort. Well ventilated. Nice look.
A few cons:
1) the seams around the index finger feel uncomfortable. The leather pad is stitched together at the pad of one's index finger, thus not allowing flush contact with between the finger and glove.
2) the mesh material opposite the palm side sticks to velcro really bad (a big concern given much of my cycling gear utilizes velcro); causes damage to the material upon removal of velcro (mostly cosmetic, but may degrade further).
Overall, i would recommend this item. Just be careful washing the glove with other velcro items.
