| | Description | A low bulk winter neck gaiter in Polartec Power Stretch fleece. Power Stretch is warm with great wicking and quick drying capabilities. The durable flat face fabric reduces pilling to the surface of the fabric yet the inside is soft fleece against your skin. The right amount of spandex in the fabric provides for a great fit and plenty of shape recovery after many uses. Features a drawstring closure on the top edge with soft, rubberized cordlock and puller. Soft, lycra binding at the bottom edge. Differential cut follows contours of the neck. Dual purpose that can be worn as a neck gaiter or hat. One size fits most. | |

A bit awkward to keep on my face, but nice Feb 25, 2009
By CtrlAltDlt I was surprised when i first received the item because theres actually a symbol on the front of the gaiter than resembles a ying-yang, with the O and D (of outdoor designs) melding together to form the design. Not really a big deal, its not a very big logo, but the product photo doesnt show this.
I bike a lot in the winter time and this does a great job of allowing me to breathe in and out without feeling the sting of cold when i breathe. After a 6 mile ride to work, the gaiter is usually pretty damp from my breath, and it sometimes makes me TOO warm to the point that i take it off temporarily. I guess its doing its job.
The only gripes i have, although i cant say its with this design in particular as this is my first gaiter, is that i have to loop the top over my ears otherwise it tends to slide down and require readjustment. Not a big deal. Its probably what most gaiters require anyhow. The other thing is that after a few months of hard use, the bottom liner stitching began to fray a bit from probably over-stretching it. Just be mindful that despite this being very flexible and stretchy, you should not overdo it.
Overall I'd highly recommend.
Outdoor designs powertune neck gaiter Jan 29, 2012
By FJ Great neck gaiter. I use it along with the Outdoor design windbloc fleece hat. I find that if I put over top of the hat at the back the neck gaiter stays well put. It allows you to breathe through pretty easily although after a few miles running it tends to get damp. Most balaclavas i have tried have the same problem though.
Works well, somewhat small Mar 15, 2010
By Guy Cobb This works well to break the wind when snowshoeing in the mountains or riding my bike to work. It's a little on the small side (could be longer and slightly larger in circumference). There is a logo on the front not seen in the picture; the picture is actually the item turned inside out as far as I can tell.
