More of a mini-survival snack and beverage kit Mar 30, 2010

This kit consists of a small stove, with fuel tabs and matches, some beverages (tea, vit c drink, broth) and a few hard candies. It's pretty nicely sealed in a can.
This is not a survival kit at all. The matches are just Ok, altho the fuel tabs are good tinder. Its main purpose is to supplement a regular kit, so you can stop, make a cuppa, and stop panicking. Actually, that is a good survival tip- when you are lost- STOP, make a cup of tea, whatever, and think for a bit before running off in a panic.
The problem is- as a supplement to a main kit- is that it's a tad bulky for what you get. It is too bulky for even a cargo pocket, so it'd have to be in a bag or pack. If you supplemented this with a good knife, a magnesium fire starter and one of those Heatshield bivvies, it'd be OK.
