Nice case, but not what is shown Jan 04, 2012
By T. North The case I received is very nice and should work well as a hiking map case. It is not however what is described in the product description. It is not clear on both sides, it has a black nylon back. It does not have grommet holes in all four corners, just on the bottom and they are only through the back side of the case. The case does come with two waterproof zip lock inserts. I will probably not use them for hiking since I don't plan on going swimming with it. I was disappointed to see that because the case was shipped folded the clear vinyl front was badly creased. It is not quite perforated but damaged enough that this will probably crack open after some use. This will make using it as a map holder without the extra ziplock inserts somewhat less waterproof. That is a disappointing because the extra inserts are a hassle, with extra closing and opening steps to take a map out and I didn't want to use them.
