Great Helmet Aug 26, 2011
By Rick I have had this helmet for 10+ years (so long I can't even remember for sure when I bought it). I have used it on and off for climbing over this period (back issues sidelined me for a couple of years). I absolutely love it. Yes it is expensive, but the fit is perfect, and about 20 seconds after I put it on, I forget I am wearing it. Just had it out in Little Cottonwood Canyon on a hot summers day, and it wasn't annoyingly hot even though I was in direct sun belaying up four more climbers and then lettering them all rap down before me. In addition to my helmet, my climbing buddy bought his about 7 or 8 years ago after trying out mine and having worn the hard plastic ones for a while. He hasn't looked back or ever complained about the cost.
A great helmet that will last a long long time, and definitely worth the investment.
Multi Use Phenom Jun 29, 2011
By John L. Ryan I bought this particular helmet because of its utility in various sports from rock climbing, mountaineering, water sports, biking, etc. While not certified by a US agency in all of these sports, the helmet meets European specifications, which in general far exceed the US's.
The helmet is lightweight - I haven't even used it yet although I have had it for probably a year (this speaks more about my safety than the product). Doing some technical alpine ascents this summer in the Rockies where it will get plenty of use.
