1horrible product!  Jan 26, 2012 By puttingbirdies "nvsage"
This lock is horrible. Note the lock is huge. When it comes down to it, unless you are using a U lock or a chain, it's a cable after all. It is heavy, not user friendly, and never works. The key mechanism broke on me and I can no longer use the product after 10 times of use or so. Please save your money and look elsewhere. I am a huge fan of the Kryptonite U locks and chains and though I'd try this, but what a waste of money!

3revised review  May 12, 2011 By Steven J Speck
When I received this lock, it was extremely difficult to turn the key the last 1/4". You could feel something resisting. I thought it might get easier after it was broken in. About the 4-5th time I used it, the velcro came apart - I can replace it but shouldn't have to a month after purchase.

My original review was posted here because after 1/2 dozen uses over a month period I was unable to open the lock at all several times.

After further experimentation I found that if the lock is coiled, it's very difficult to open - the force required to turn the key seems enough to snap it off in the lock. However if it is first uncoiled, it opens easily.

I'll be keeping the lock since I like the .75 thickness of the cable.
