Stamina Supporting, All Natural, and Not Too Sweet Jul 18, 2010
By HTBK I was looking for a sports drink to help during Insanity: The Ultimate Cardio Workout and Fitness DVD Program and P90X Extreme Home Fitness Workout Program - 13 DVDs, Nutrition Guide, Exercise Planner (especially Plyo). Most sports drinks are too sweet, full of junk, and loaded with sugar.
Hammer HEED has a nearly cultlike following, especially amongst hardcore bicyclists, and it's easy to see why once you try it. It's all natural with sugar substitutes, so you're not drinking junk, which always seemed counterproductive to me considering you're generally drinking these products while trying to stay healthy. It really does help with your stamina - it's not going to make you able to run a marathon out of nowhere, of course, it's not magic, but it definitely helped me last longer before bonking in more intense workouts. And best of all, the flavor is light, with just a hint of lemon-lime, so you're not drinking something heavy that weighs your stomach down while you're trying to work out.
I am definitely going to keep a supply of this in the cabinet going forward.

Worked as advertised Jun 17, 2010
By Gabrielle Rubert Prior to using this product, I always felt like I'd run out of energy too quickly and I had a burn and fatigue in my leg muscles that caused me to call it quits earlier than I wanted. Now, I mix the powder as indicated with water, drink a good amount prior to commencing activity, and I'm good to go for at least 2 to 3 hours. This has worked in the biking I do, beach volleyball, hiking, and just for a general sense of well-being and sustained energy throughout my day.
The main reason I chose it was that it's sweetened with Stevia, my sweetener of choice for everything. Beyond the health benefits of Stevia, this product truly exceeded my expectations in the way I feel and perform. My fiance drinks it too and has noticed more energy and a better feeling as well. Most importantly, he notices that I make it up the hills much faster when we're biking together and that I hang in there longer in our two-man beach volleyball games. This is all possible because I no longer have that lactic acid burn in my legs, and I feel more energized.
The only flavor we've tried is the Mild Melon. I recently bought samples of a couple of the other available flavors, and I look forward to trying them soon. Love the product! You will too.

HEED convert Nov 03, 2009
By pafmarwak I have tried many other brands of energy and sports drinks. I prefer the non flavored version of HEED to Gatorade, Power Aid and something named Ultimate or Ultimax? That is awful tasting stuff. HEED works for me and keeps me going during the heat or cold on marathon and training walks.

"Daddy's Drink" is a hit with the whole family May 01, 2009
By Duchess in Denim My husband is a big cyclist...He rides everything from centuries to trails... even just a toot around the 'hood with our toddler. He has been a Hammer Nutrition fan for years.
I found Heed and Gel to be a life saver when I was suffering from morning sickness!
We love Heed. I drink it after a hard day of gardening... my daughter (3) loves it just as a drink... which is great because it has no simple sugars. We've had the Lemon/lime, Orange and most recently Strawberry. So far I like the strawberry the least... but the kid likes it best....Dad could really care less as long as it's Heed!

This is my favorite drink mix for cycling. I prefer the melon flavor, but this is good too. Works well and the flavor isn't too overpowering. I add some unflavored whey protein for rides longer than 2 hours and it all mixes well together.
