Not bad Jan 14, 2010
By Kenneth M. Anderson I bought the set of three (30lb, 40lb, and 50lb) a few weeks ago. I am by no means a large, strong man, I'm 6'1 and 145, I've been to the gym a few times, I rock climb occasionally, but maybe my grip is stronger than I thought, because I am now able to do 30+ reps on the red 50lb donut. I think these are more meant to be used for warm up, or physical therapy as mentioned by someone else here. If you really want to work on your forearm and grip strength, definitely get the Captains of Crush grippers, they're more expensive, but definitely a work out. Sure, these grip pro trainers do smell like rubber, but I don't mind it, I actually kind of like it, and it's pretty subtle. They do fit nicely in the hand and are enjoyable to use, I just wish they made harder ones, like 60, 75 and 100lb resistance, do that and I'll be sure to buy a few. All in all, great product for the price, can't beat it. Keep one at the office and you'll notice a difference.

The best there is, IMO Nov 18, 2010

The main thing to say about this gripper is that it does not break down. I use mine daily - black one - and its resistance today is the same as the day that I bought it. There are no springs to bend and break, no particles left in your hand, it doesn't retreat, it's stalwart. If the one I have ever wears out, which doubtful, I replace it with one of its brothers.

Good Hand Trainer Aug 31, 2009
By Roster222 This is a simple device that provides good resistance both contracting and releasing. No breakable parts. I use it mainly while driving. Keeps my hand in shape for playing guitar.

Best of three Feb 14, 2009
By S.D. Amazonian I bought three hand exercisers recently for physical therapy after a hand injury: the SKLZ Rick Smith Gripp Ball, a GRIP Master (Medium), and this Grip Pro Trainer. The Grip Pro Trainer turned out to be the most effective for me because of its full range-of-motion. The SKLZ ball I like a lot as well, but it requires much less force to compress and the range-of-motion is more limited (Still good for variety). My least favorite is the GRIP Master, as it is somewhat clumsy in its action and also has very limited range. My one complaint about the Grip Pro Trainer is that it smells strongly like a tire. Still not enough to make me rate it less than five stars!
