5Great for sending to school with kids  Sep 07, 2010
I love the chill jacket podium. It is great for sending to school because the valve is no leak and the bottle does not sweat. This can be such a huge problem for elementary aged children, either you send water at room temperature or it will sweat all over their desk and papers. And we have had bottles leak in the backpack either on the way to school, home or in the locker (with the bottle upside down). We take them to the pool in the summer and to the gym year round. I can throw all the others in the trash because this is the only one I use now.

A toss up between a camelbak 21-ounce, insulated (too small ...some claim) or Polar 24 ounce, insulated (but sprout is not as good). Well, I end up buying both of them and switch the caps on them. Now you have a larger bottle, chills better, desirable sprout. Putting ice in it is ideal for longer chill factor. freezing it ...even better! I used it everyday! Until I losted both of them after long period of use. Now ...shopping for another set.

5I really like mine  Aug 05, 2010
I have two of these bottles and prefer them over the polar ice brand so much so that I gave away the polar ones to some new riders in our group who did not have water bottles. I really like the spout and the squeezeablitly of the bottles. I have found no problem with dirt collecting on the spout as some have but I use it on my road bike and it has never been an issue.

4Better than non-insulated  Jul 13, 2010
Okay, here was my super-scientific test method: I put about four ice cubes in the Podium Chill and filled the rest with water. I filled my regular Podium to the top with ice cubes and the rest with water. I drove 30 minutes across town to the trail in a non-air conditioned car. I was on the trail for about an hour to 90 minutes, using the standard Podium the whole time. By the time I finished, the remaining water was well on the way to warm/hot. The Podium Chill, while no longer containing any cubes, was still cool on its way to room temperature for the drive home.

I like the Chill for its taller size, I don't have to reach down as far on the bike to pick it up. I noticed no funny taste, even when using it immediately after purchase without rinsing. I chose the Chill over the Polar because I am addicted to Camelbak's spill-proof spout technology that means no fiddling to open the cap while riding (although this proved to be inconvenient when I sweat sunscreen into my eye and couldn't just dribble some water into it to clean it out). Maybe when I win the lottery I'll buy the Polar too and see if I can't interchange lids.

It serves its purpose best on shorter rides. The first time I used too many ice cubes that didn't melt, so I was left with no actual water to drink. However, if you're planning an all-day adventure and want ice cold water the whole time, this definitely isn't for you.

5Waterbottle for all outdoor adventures  Jul 07, 2010
If you want your water bottle to have a few extra features here and there that add some pleasure throughout your ride or exercise then this is the water bottle for you. This bottle never leaks, it has never cracked, and it does actually keep the liquid cooler for longer. It won't keep the water cold for hours on end, but for an extra few hours your water will be cooler. One of the major upsides of this bottle is that it has camelbak's no-leak nozzle and a lock to stop the flow.

Bottom line: Realistically, a water bottle is a water bottle, and if you want to pay a few extra dollars for a water bottle that never leaks and keeps your water a little colder a little longer, this water bottle is for you.
