Great Product, Except for Defect in Design Apr 11, 2010

We went cross country with our two and five year old sons, and they loved these. Easy to use, the battery lasted the entire trip, and the child features (break away strap; 1 hour auto turn-off) were great. The price was perfect, as I feared they would lose it along the way (they didn't).
For all its strengths, the piece that holds the battery case closed is a cheap piece of plastic that snapped like nothing. I cob-jobbed it for the rest of the trip. It bugged me, so I sent it back. I got a refund because they were out of replacements for the season. When Black Diamond fixes that small flaw I would buy a case and give them out for presents (kids love getting headlamps).

Automatic Turn Off! Great for kids! Apr 20, 2009
By R. Jones Headlamps have almost made flashlights obsolete. My tween kids take these camping with scouts. Never a problem and auto turn off pays for itself in saved batteries. Now if they just don't loose them!

kind of cheap Jan 04, 2010

I got this head lamp for my 7, 6 and 3 year old. The kids love them because they are like mom and dads, but I have to say they are really cheap. The plastic is flimsy and can easily break when inserting the batteries. The head lamp can easily come off the band too. I think I will buy an adult head lamp of better quality next time.

nice headlamp, but... Jan 11, 2009
By Diane Great headlamp that is easy for kids to use. Unfortuately, the headlamp separates from the band easily, and I am constantly replacing it for my 2 and 3 year olds. I would have made it permanently attached or harder to remove. Otherwise my kids love having their own headlamps and they no longer play with mine.
Wiz lamp Jun 10, 2010
By T. Douglas It came with a broken bracket. I emailed manufacturer and they mailed me a new one the next day. Good customer service from the manufacturer. Bought for my daughter who is going to use it at camp.
