5Great snowshoe!  Feb 25, 2010 By smb "a designer"
I got two pairs of these for my family. Would have bought three, but I'm WAY over the weight limit. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! We live on the east coast and got a ton of snow, so I thought these would be fun and at a reasonable cost. They're very well made and easy to use. None of us had ever been on snow shoes before and did great. I did find that when the snow was soft I sank pretty deep, but it was still better than walking with just snow boots. These are so much fun and a great workout. I would suggest using ski poles if you aren't used to snow shoes. I liked the extra stability they gave. A great product and a lot of fun!

1Straps broke multiple places after 6 uses  Jan 19, 2011 By Clyde "hadjim"
The straps on these Redfeather snowshoes are not able to withstand the normal wear and tear of going up snowy slopes. They are very poorly designed and cheaply made. After about 6 uses, multiple tears at the bottom of the strap began to appear. At the eight use, the strap tore apart completely by the front claw while I was doing a mild hike on mainly flat terrain. I've had these less than a year, and are extremely disappointed in their quality. The grip and claws work well, though you do have alot of snow deposit at the bottom of the shoe after a mile or so, which you need to periodically clean out with your poles. Overall, these snowshoes are a waste of money, you're better off spending an extra $60 and buy an MSR snowshoe that will last at least a year or more. Sometimes, trying to save money on inferior prodcut does not pay. This will be my last Redfeather product.

5redfeather snowshoes  Mar 09, 2011 By Olgabow
I like Redfeather Snowshoes Conquest USA very much. I walked them this winter a lot, they are stable, strong and keep feet well. They are just look beautiful, metallic-and-gray with nice burgundie belts. I used them for recreational walks only, not for mountines hiking, so I can't tell how they are good for sport activity.

3Heavier than expected  Apr 11, 2011 By Josie
I was disappointed that these are heavier than I expected for plastic snowshoes. They weigh as much as the tubular framed ones that I wanted to replace that were too heavy. The plastic straps though are stretchy so they can be easily pulled tight and so the bindings stay on better than any of my other snowshoes. They are kind of clunky with the nearly solid bottoms, sort of like wearing boats or snowboards, but they navigate easily over frozen lumps and ridges, and the teeth on the bottom really dig into the ice. Not good for soft, deep snow, as they sink way in. They are good if you have a lot of ice and frozen ruts to navigate or well packed trail. I decided to not send them back since we had a lot of ice here this winter, and also the straps hold them on really well. The straps though are not that rugged, so no telling how long they will last.

5Make sure you are using this snowshoe for the right situation  Mar 14, 2011 By Just shopping
After reading the reviews, these shoes are great for a specific application.

Designed for:

Super durable nylon frame (can stand on it)
easy cross country style strap system
Works for tennis shoe to big pack boot
Ideal for 175lbs works to 210 pounds (IN soft powdery snow no shoe is going to work that great)
Light running on mixed surfaces
Snow shoe trails

NOT Good for:
Super fluffy snow
Off trail
looking for super high float shoes

OVERALL: Works great if you are using them for the correct situation..

Please comment with any questions..

For softer snow, I use a 36" Redfeather Hike Control Recreational Snowshoes

I always use a REDFEATHER they about the only reasonable snowshoe made in USA.......
