I have been diving for over 6 years now and i've been using Sea Drops from the start. Many people will tell you spit, or baby shampoo is just as good and cheaper, but you get what you pay for. While the others "MAY" work, Sea Drops do work all the time. i use 3 drops per lens and apply it when prepping the equipment for a dive. When you get to the water rinse the lenses and the mask will stay clear the whole dive. I would recommend the drops over the gel as the drops will last you longer and the gel is generally more expensive. I love this product and highly recommend it.

Three way *extreme* comparison Dec 28, 2009 By Dire Wolf
I practice karate & I wear glasses. This is not a happy combination - I spend too much time picking my glasses up off the mat. So I went out & bought a pair of sports goggles, they stay on but fog up something fierce. (My *opponents* like sparring with a blind man, though... ;-) For those who don't practice the Ancient Asian Art of kicking-below-the-belt: it is the *ultimate* workout. You sweat an unbelievable amount, making this a true stress test for anti-fog goop. I tried an old spray-on I use for my motorcycle face shield - but that did next-to-nothing to help.

I hit good ol' Amazondotcom & found the three highest-rated anti-fog products & tried them out on successive weeks.

NUMBER THREE is the artfully-named "Cat Crap" Ek Cat Crap Glass and Lens Cleaner It's a waxy substance, you smear it on & by the directions buff it until clear. But I don't know how to tell the difference between "buffing until clear" and "wiping it off." It did do better at mitigating the fogging problem than the old spray-on I had laying around. But it still didn't keep the lenses clear, either. Three Stars.

NUMBER TWO is Sea Drops Sea Drops Anti-Fog & Lens Cleaner This is a viscous fluid, you smear it on & let it dry, then buff. I buffed it just barely enough for the spots to disappear & tried it out. It worked "pretty good." My lenses didn't fog up, stayed mostly clear but by the end of class there was still a little spotting. Much better than the old spray-on, but still not quite as good as number one. Four Stars.

For my money, NUMBER ONE is Fog Tech. FogTech Anti-fog 30ml Solution It's a clear solution, you wipe it on & let dry. That's it, no guessing how much buffing you need. My goggles stayed clear & dry throughout the class. It may be the priciest solution, but it works. Five Stars.

Now I can see the foot coming at my nose.

Much better.

Not recommended for Glasses Feb 02, 2011 By J. Wang
This review is for GLASSES wearers only. It does NOT apply to goggles, so if you are going to use this for anything other than glasses, please do not consider this into whether or not you are going to get these.

These drops were purchased for my glasses for when I snowboarded. I wasn't sure if they would work, but I decided to give them a try anyways.

Applying to the glasses was difficult- following multiple directions online and on the package, I either left a terrible residue on the lenses and was unable to see clearly, or I buffed it out to the point where all the liquid had disappeared and the glasses fogged up again.
I finally got them buffed to the point where they semi-didn't fog, and went up the mountain where of course, they fogged up.

For glasses, I don't recommend this product.
I have tried them on my bathroom mirror, and it does seem to work there though, and worked for about a week.

If you are looking for something with your glasses, I recommend going to your nearest REI; they have a generic white cloth that you can buff your glasses with and it keeps them from getting fogged up. Best of all, it only costs 2.99 and can be used almost indefinitely.

It works! (apparently, even with swim goggles) Jul 12, 2010 By Chad Varnadore
I bought this product to keep my swim goggles from fogging up, so I was a little disappionted when I read on the bottle that it was not for use with swim goggles, presumably because the concentration was too strong. Reading where another person here, said he/she used the solution with swim goggles too, despite the manufacturer's warning, I tried the posted recommendation of letting it dry first, polishing the lens, and then thoroughly flushing it with water before putting it on. And to my surprise, it worked extremely well. For swim goggles it only took a single drop per lens too, so this small bottle should last a long, long time.

Actually, at first I didn't flush the goggles after polishing them with a tissue, as the other poster had suggested, and I felt some slight eye irritation as a result. But rubbing water onto the lens with my finger, as if to remove any trace of the solution, not only eliminated the eye irritation but to my surprise the anti-fog still maintained its effectiveness. I wore the goggles for about 2.5 hours, straight, while swimming and playing in the pool with my niece and nephew the following day, and the solution never lost it's anti-fog effect. When I hit the lake the day after that, the original coat was still working pretty well, but I only stayed in the water for about 20-30 minutes this time, and by the time I got out it looked like it could benefit from another application.

Some people may be more sensitive than I am to whatever chemical(s) is used in the solution that can cause eye irritation, so I'm not advocating ignoring the manufacturer's recommendation, mind you - just sharing my experience, after several uses, to help corroborate what another poster said for anyone looking to try it. If I go blind in a years time, I'll know the probable cause.

Works great for swimming Apr 14, 2011 By Lara "wa_ladybug"
My kids, husband and I swim every week in a chlorinated pool for about 2 hours and we needed new goggles as our inexpensive ones from a major discount big-box store were not fitting well. Also, based on our past experience I wanted a good de-fogger as well. I purchased new goggles for us (Aqua Sphere Kayenne goggles (blue lenses) and Aqua Sphere KIDS Seal 2 Pack Swim Goggles for the kids) as well as the Sea Drops Anti Fog cleaner. The new goggles fit great and we used the goggles a couple of times (without using the Anti-fog drops) and then they fogged up so I pulled out the Anti-Fog drops.

Sure enough they clearly say not for swim goggles, but after reading the positive reviews I tried using the drops--put 1 drop in each lens and outside each lens, let it dry and then rinsed them off. It worked perfectly! We are able to swim about 2 times before we need to re-apply and because I can't remember to do it every other time I essentially apply the drops after each use so they are dry when we need them next. I'm not sure why I'm applying on the outside, but since I'm only using 1 drop I'm not overly anxious to stop as I don't want them to fog given it takes approximately 30 min to dry. We also just went snorkeling on a recent vacation and I used these drops on our masks and they worked well. The only negative is how long they take to dry--you can't just apply, rinse and go, you must wait for them to dry or it doesn't work (and then rinse and go). I highly recommend these drops as they are working well on our swim goggles which is what we really need them for each week!
