5Stays in place, well constructed  Jul 04, 2009 By Giselle Springer-Douglas "Child of the World"
--> Fits my standard-sized iPod (I believe it is the same size as the 1st gen iPods, however, mine is a 4th gen I believe)

--> Appears to be well-constructed as I have seen no tears or frays as of yet, and this guy suffers a lot of abuse being jostled about in my gym bag--Not to mention that I take my iPod out and put it back in this unit near-daily and it is holding up fine

--> Strong Velcro keeps your iPod where you want it on your arm--Even while jogging, this little bugger stays put

--> Enough Velcro strap is provided for a wide range of arm sizes--I have relatively thin arms and, although I must adjust the Velcro strap to the very end of the line, this fits me fine

--> A relative cinch to modulate the volume through the plastic cover--It may take a few rolls of the iPod face dial through the plastic to get the volume to respond (which can be a pain when you're trying to keep a steady pace on a treadmill or elliptical) but you'll eventually figure out how much pressure is needed after a few tries and will then need fewer attempts to get the volume up or down

--> The ear phone pocket is not terribly useful for holding extra cord while listening to music unless you put the armband on your left arm so that the pocket is closest to your left ear--If the armband is on your right arm (where I like to wear mine) and you stuff extra cord in the pocket, because of the pocket's position on the opposite side of the armband, any loose cord that runs from the pocket to your ears gets trapped over, around, and through the arm band and will eventually pull the ear buds out of your ear (especially if you're jogging, or moving in an aerobic way)... The pocket is great, however, for storing loose cord when you're transporting your iPod/armband combo in hand or in a bag/purse/pocket

--> Once in place, it is almost unnoticeable on your arm and does not interfere with your activities (Note: I am a cardio gal and am often on a cycle, elliptical, or treadmill--I can't speak from experience on how this might work out for those who lift weights)

All in all, this armband stays put, allows relatively easy access to controls, and keeps your ear phones neatly stored for transport. Especially considering the not-so-favorable reviews of other similar products, I found this to be a good buy.
