Great light, except... Jul 06, 2011
By J. Berg This is a powerful, rugged, compact light. It is *almost* a great product, but it is a big almost. The problem is, there is no indicator of the state of battery charge. The instructions are to run it down all the way, then charge it for a set time back to full charge. You are warned against overcharging. This is really an impossible situation. I don't want the light to quit in the middle of a ride. I don't want to plug it in, and then carefully monitor the charging time. In this day and age, and for this price, why can't there be one or two little LEDs to tell you when the battery needs a charge and when it is fully charged?

Poor product, disreputable company Sep 20, 2011
By Ben Rons

My Stella light is several seasons old. The battery that shipped with the Stella had a design flaw that caused it to shut off when bumped. Extremely dangerous! I turned the light in for warranty service, and Stella offered to replace the battery, stating that it was a "known design flaw", but stated that I would have to buy a more expensive Multi-chem charger to use their replacement. I refused, of course, citing the fact that they were first violating terms of warranty service and second, asking for a lawsuit when someone died at night. They came down to "cost" for the new battery charger, still not cheap, and I accepted. By that time I had been gifted a much nicer set of lights by DiNotte (highly recommended!), so the battery and light sat for two seasons. Today I charged the light and set it up for my wife as a starter light while we rode together. It fizzled out 15 minutes into the ride. By fizzled out, I do NOT mean ran out of battery. The battery is fine. The top indicator light stayed on "solid" while the main (important) light stuttered, blinked, and finally went out permanently. If I wanted a junky light that is dangerous and lasts for one season, I would buy a candle and some duct tape. This product is not worthy of any title heftier than "reading light", and the company deserves to have their pants sued off. Maybe it would set their attitude straight, as simple reasoning does not seem to have any effect.

great light, horrible battery Jul 22, 2011
By letthewookieewin i've had this light for 2 seasons now and I'm already on my third battery pack for it. They dont hold a charge for as long as the packaging says and they quicky lose maximum charge after 30+ uses. it would easily be a 5 star product if the batteries werent such a weak link. the light is extremely bright and covers a decent sized path in front of you.
