3OK but not great - and a bit of a rip off  Aug 22, 2006 By spabomba
The pillow is OK I suppose. It will help me rest on longer US domestic flights. I am concerned that the synthetic down will compact over time. It is already showing signs of this, reducing it's functionality as a pillow. Cocoon should also make it clear that unless you have neoprene for skin, the pillow is very uncomfortable without a pillow case. You have to buy a pillow case to go with it to use it. Another $10 for the pillow case plus delivery I found out after I opened up the box. So the pillow ended up costing about $35 inc delivery and case....

4Great travel pillow, ok for backpacking  Mar 18, 2010 By Frank T. Steele
this pillow is great for traveling by car or plane. I bought it for backpacking and it is OK. It packs small but it is heavier than 5 oz (OK so it is 5.6 oz, I am a Gram Weenie). It definitely has more loft than the Down version.

3It's OK, but not exactly plush...  Jan 02, 2007 By Amy M. Walts
The pillow is amazingly compact, which makes it nice when packing space is at a premium. Its thinness, however, also proves to be its primary disadvantage. I spend a lot of time on roadtrips with my husband, and had bought this pillow to use in the car. When leaning it between my head and the car window/frame, however, I could still feel the car surfaces almost as if the pillow were not there at all. The down compresses nearly flat, so that this was more a "pad" than a "pillow". Those looking for a true "pillow" would probably want to purchase more than one of these to put in the same pillowcase. In my situation, I have an LLBean travel pillowcase that I bought this to go in. I do like the Cocoon Travel Pillow product-- enough so that I purchased an identical one to put in the pillowcase along with the first. The two pillows together do the job nicely.

5Great lumbar support pillow for plane rides, car, etc  Dec 29, 2011 By DVM Shane "Shane"
I purchased this for laying my head on backpacking trips and it is too thin for that, but it works perfectly to support my lower back in those horribly uncomfortable plane seats!

I ordered the Cocoon travel pillow in down but it arrived in its synthetic foam form. Amazon were very good and refunded the money. Even so, the pillow was covered in a slippery, shiney, nylon fabric totally unsuitable for a travel pillow as one's head would keep sliding off! also hot and sticky. Maybe the down version has a better cover and filling, but I doubt it. I would definitely not recommend this product.Cocoon Down Travel Pillow
