Excellent Watch and Value! Jan 29, 2011
By GTDLA This is an excellent basic model HRM and sports fitness watch. If you have never had a Suunto, these are, by design highly technical watches, so I would say that it requires slightly better than average attention to the directions; this is not plug & play. That said, it has several unqiue features that would not normally come on a basic level watch; most impressive is a digital second hand, which is quite nice. Calorie counter is accurate as long as you ensure you are entering your correct weight (i.e.; make sure you wiegh yourself before each training session and update the weight before starting; it makes a BIG difference). One downside, again, if you own another Suunto watch is that the chest-strap is unique to this model watch, which is unfortunate. This means if you are using two watches for different types of training (I do), you have to remember or label which one is for which watch. And, oh by the way, they look identical! You would have thought someone would have thought of that considering my other Suunto is a $500 watch. Overall, very very good.
Not exactly durable... Dec 06, 2010

I bought one of these less than 10 months ago. It worked great until this past month or so when it started acting up. New batteries (for the second time) in both the chest strap and watch didn't help and now it just seems to show random numbers. I realize this isn't Suunto's top-of-the line offering, but then I didn't need most of the features of their more expensive units. And who's to say any of those would have been more durable. This one was great while it lasted, but I've moved on to Polar.

By lana a little tricky to get used to in the beginning but great once you get the hang of it. the straps are very long and slip out of the small strap often. the grey also gets dirty quickly but can be cleaned easily

Too complicated! May 17, 2009 I couldn't even figure out how to program this watch. I just wanted a sports watch with a timer for my exercise but thought the calorie counter would be a good feature too. I couldn't even figure out how to set anything but the time. Too complicated for me.....maybe better for someone that is into really serious workouts.
