3Not quite as advertised  Jul 30, 2010 By Robert Ruff
I recently purchased this item and I was initially impressed with the material and design. I used the bivy as a sleeping bag during a summer backpacking trip instead of taking my normal down bag along. It was super light and it didn't take up alot of space in my backpack. The temp dropped into the upper 60's at night and all I needed to do was cover myself with the bivy. I didn't even get into the bag. There were no condensation problems. I was totally comfortable. The material isn't crinkly like a space blanket.

The two problems I encountered were the bivvies I purchased did not have the foot vents, even though Adventure Medical Kits advertises there are. The thread used for the velcro is weak. Some of the stitching is unraveling from the velcro and I've only opened the bag portion a few times. That's the reason for the 3 star rating.

Otherwise, it's a good product and it definitely could save your life in a survival situation. Be gentle on the material though. If you want a cheap, featherweight summer sleeping bag, this is the way to go also.

5oversized bivy,for larger person  May 01, 2010 By Michael E. Califfsr
The Bivy 2 is big enough for the oversized person and yet is small enough to fit in backpack with alot of room to spare.Comes with it's own stuff bag.

Great bag for emergency warmth or as supplement to sleeping bag for unplanned low temps. One of my favorite outdoor products.

3Not the Therma-Lite 2 version  Feb 06, 2011 By psh
As noted in one of the other reviews, this is not the newer version of this product, which features the Terma-Lite 2 material (which is lighter and stronger that the original). There appears to be some error in the internal logic that generates the Amazon's product page that causes the product description to sometimes refer to the original (which is what you actually get) and sometimes the newer version.

1Bait & Switch  Aug 30, 2011 By pc
..I ordered (what was advertised as) the AMK Thermo-Lite 2.0, and was excited to find it at a good price. I too was sent the AMK Thermal Bivy instead. I have sent an e-mail back to both the Seller and Amazon, and am waiting to hear back. However I did take it out to see about the stitching as another reviewer mentioned.. sure enough it was cheap and already unravelling and there was a tear in the fabric at the seams. I'm disappointed, but hopefully the seller and/or Amazon will make things right by sending the advertised product, and adjusting this glitch as another reviewer had mentioned.

I'm rating this one star since I needed this for a pinch, and am setting out in just a few days.. if things are made right I will adjust my rating.
